Dawson's Bar & Grill - Tacoma: A Delightful Dining & Live Music Experience

The atmosphere is fantastic. It has the perfect amount of lighting to create a great ambience for live music. The sound system they had was also great. It had a dance floor, which is a bonus and plenty of seating. It was much larger on the inside from what it appeared on the outside no cover charge. The food was mediocre, the service was pretty good, but they had limited people working so they ran their tails off.

I love Dawson's, it's an awesome little spot with good food, responsive bartenders, plenty of seating between the interior and front/back patio areas and good drinks. Only thing I don't care much for is the live music. It's some people's thing but in a bar that small just not for me.

Dawson's Bar and Grill on South Tacoma Way deserves every bit of this five-star review! I've been here many times for breakfast, and each visit has been outstanding. The service is top-notch, and the food is always the best money can buy. A special shoutout to Shayla, the bartender, who made my experience even better. She treated me like I was her number one customer, checking in at just the right moments and making sure I had everything I needed. Her attentiveness and professionalism were impressive. As for the food, I ordered sausage links, hash browns, two eggs over easy, and white toast. It was cooked to perfection, and I savored every last bite. If you're looking for a spot with great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Dawson's Bar and Grill is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Yesterday was pick up horse feed for the ranch and take our rescue dogs out to be groomed. Milo and Koda are not only throwaways but special needs too. With the groomer being in Tacoma it wasn’t worth driving back home to Roy, only to turn around and go back to Tacoma. I had seen another restaurant not too long ago but with street parking full we passed. This time parking was available so we parked, walked inside and was immediately disappointed. The place was tiny, with only 3 tables, 2 tiny counters with stools, and a brand new counter person who was unable to answer questions of the customer wanting to place an order. Out we went, never to return. I saw Dawson’s on the corner, so we decided to go there. We walked through the door and immediately spoke with some friendly long time customers. Wendy, the bartender, was friendly, fast and efficient as she raced around taking care of a pretty full establishment. I ordered a BLT on sourdough with fries. Ray ordered the Reuben with salad and honey mustard dressing. I had water. Ray ordered lemonade, which to me, tasted pretty watered down. Our meals came out pretty fast. Everything was made to order. The bacon was crispy, not soggy and there were several pieces. The fries were hot and crisp, not soggy. Ray’s Reuben was stuffed with corned beef and sauerkraut. His salad was more than just lettuce. This is a bar so the music is loud and the bar is dark. The food and service was excellent. They also serve breakfast all day for those who like breakfast at times other than early to late mornings. This is a place worth visiting again.

I came here because I'm always looking for a good Reuben and I saw they had one on the menu. If you're looking for a good Reuben, don't come here. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good reasons to come here. It's a biker bar. Interesting people all around. Everyone was nice. I'm pretty sure I sat across the bar from Dawson. The Reuben was just, meh. Dry meat, bulk made rye bread, inconsistent spread of the dressing. I think the cook just didn't care about my sandwich. Hey, at least it wasn't made by a Sasquatch. It still looked nice on the plate and the tater tots are a great side. They have live music here and it was fun to visit here for the first time. It won't be my last.

Very peaceful little place, I was happy to find out that they were open early because my classes were canceled so I can get a sandwich. Everybody seem nice, the place was clean, and wide open. I'll definitely be going back there for a quick snack and a beer sometime.

My first time going, we just got an appetizer platter with fries and drinks. Food was good and drinks were amazing! Will definitely be back again

Came here on Saturday and ordered corn, beef hash, and the other person ordered. Just eggs and toast. Food is pretty decent drinks on the other hand not so much kind of a divvy place but I’d come back again.
